How to Join

To join any of the sporting clubs on campus, you first need to be member of NUSport.

Becoming a member of NUSport:

1. Full time & part time students of Newcastle Uni – you already are a member! Proceed straight to the gearstore.
2. Full time staff at Newcastle Uni – you too are automatically a member! Please find out your NUSport number before coming to the gearstore.
3. Newcastle Uni students on a leave of absence – you need to join NUSport as an “associate member” at the front desk at the forum. They will require proof that you are on a leave of absence and it costs $55. Bring your NUSport number around to the gearstore.
4. Australian university graduates – you need to join NUSport as an “associate member” at the front desk at the forum. They will require proof that you graduated and it costs $55. Bring your NUSport number around to the gearstore.
5. Not one of the above? – you need to get committee approval before you can join as the club has a limited number of spaces for external members. To be eligible, external members must bring new skills or experience to the club either through an adventure activity or an administrative activity. If you want to join as an external member please contact the President first on the details below. If you are granted committee approval, you must then join NUSport as an "external member" using a form signed by the committee. This will cost you $77 and you are then free to join the club.

Becoming a member of NUMC:

Come around to the gearstore, 6:30 to 7:30pm on Wednesday, bring your NUSport# or your student card. Membership is $40, please bring cash as we have no eftpos.
